North End

Mercer Islands North End sits in the middle of Lake Washington linking Bellevue and the east side to Seattle via the I-90 floating Bridge. It encompasses smaller neighborhoods such as Roanoke, McGilvara, Mercer Island Town, Mercerdale, and Beaumont.

The North End stretches from the borders of Lake Washington in the north,  south to about SE. 40th St. The interstate runs directly east and west through Mercer Island’s North End. These are home to some of the most expensive and luxurious homes on the island ranging in price from $1 million to over $13 million.

There are also multiple parks and recreational facilities throughout Mercer Island’s North End including the Mercer Island high school. Most of the services and conveniences of the island are located in the North End.

Home to Mercer Island’s Town Center, the North End is a collection of dynamic and diverse neighborhoods. They offer easy access to the interstate as well as the islands downtown amenities. With the farmers market drawing locals and visitors every Sunday from 9 to 3 PM, annual concerts in the park and Summer Celebration festivals, the North and community is alive and well featuring bustling activities, classes, and programs for all community members.

Parks

Parks in the area include the Luther Burbank Park, First Hill Park, Aubrey Davis Park, and the Mercerdale Park. Each has something different to offer with playgrounds, green space, sports fields, and trails. The mountains to sound Greenway

The Mountains to Sound Greenway Trail runs through Aubrey Davis Park featuring beautiful views of the city skyline. This is also a popular destination to watch the Blue Angels performance during the Seafair weekend.

In addition to the North End’s many parks and amenities, it’s also a historical destination. There are several buildings and homes registered on the national register of historical places including the VFW Hall and Roanoke Inn, popular destinations for venues and private events.

The North End includes several major neighborhoods including East Seattle, Mercer Dale, and First Hill. These waterfront communities, residential neighborhoods, and gated communities such as Sterling Cove offer waterfront homes, large estates, and stunning views Lake Washington and the Seattle skyline.

Schools

Residents of North End are part of the Mercer Island school district and those with school-age children typically utilize the West Mercer Elementary school, the Islander middle school, and the Mercer Island high school. On the North Ends Eastside, residents use the Enatai elementary school. All of these are rated as some of the best schools in the Seattle area.
