The art of feng shui is a century-old tradition of setting up a home in a particular way to incite good energy and make you feel happy in your own home. There is a lot of levels of designing a good feng shui house but there are some simple things you can do to increase the energy in your home. Here are four simple ways to feng shui your home.

A strong front door.

In the art of feng shui, homes are absorbing most of the needed energy via the front door so the stronger your door is the more good feng shui energy it can absorb. Starting with the front door is like having a clear, strong voice and speaking up for yourself. It’s as if your house needs his own voice as well. Pick a door that is proportionate to the size of the home, opens freely, and is the right color of paint with good hardware the complements the house. Think of it as the lipstick on the lips that speak truth and energy all around.

Inviting main entry.

Once someone goes in the door ideal feng shui should incite self-contained energy. You may not be able to do anything about the layout of your home, but if you’re looking for a home with feng shui, choose one that is not a split entry or does not have the stairs directly in front of the front door. You want your front door to be inviting so that people can come in, relax, and feel at peace immediately. There shouldn’t be any doors or windows directly facing the front door as you want to keep the positive energy inside rather than letting it leak outside or go upstairs or downstairs right away.

A nourishing kitchen.

The kitchen is often the heart of the home and it’s connected to the health and well energy of the property as well so it’s important to take good care of the kitchen. Find colors specific to maintaining and creating fresh and nourishing energy and details matter so fresh flowers, fresh fruit, vegetables, and a warm and inviting color will all add a good feng shui energy to your kitchen.

A loving bedroom.

If you’re choosing a home try to choose one where the bedroom is not directly above or below the kitchen. And while the living room can act as a gathering place, the bedroom should be the most loved room in the house. Remember, this is probably the room you spend the most time and even though you are sleeping. You want to put the bed in a commanding position meaning that it’s okay to face the door but not be directly in line with the door. Avoid placing your headboard against the wall that has a toilet on the other side and try not to place your bet under any low beams or sloped ceilings.

These four simple tips can make homebuying easier because you can easily check them off your list if the home has good feng shui or not.
