Madrona Crest is a small neighborhood on Mercer Island’s mid-Island district between SE. 40th St. and SE. 36th St., between 84th Ave., Southeast on the west and the Gallagher Hill Road to the east. This small 9 to 10 block neighborhood is primarily residential bordering the Gallagher Hill open space on the east and Clise Park on the west.

Homes

Like many of the micro-neighborhoods of Mercer Island, Madrona Crest is a quiet community of single-family homes. Most of these homes range from 900 ft.² to 8500 ft.² with two bedrooms and up to seven bedroom layouts.

Home prices are between $700,000 and $3 million based on size, age, and condition. At any given time there are about 2 to 5 properties for sale in the Madrona Crest neighborhood.

One of the most predominant features of Madrona Crest is its revitalization projects. Many of the older homes are being torn down and replaced by new construction or being completely remodeled. In addition to homes, the city of Mercer Island has been a pivotal part of this revitalization project installing new water pipes and water mains over the last couple of years. You’re not likely to find a lot of homeowner associations in Madrona Crest. Most homes are custom-built on individual lots however, you might find the occasional 3 to 4 home Association, and in which case, association dues are typically not more than $25 per month.

Schools

Madrona Crest is part of the Mercer Island school district and residents are served by the Northwood elementary school, the Islander middle school, and the Mercer Island high school.
